Multi-Skilled Maintenance Operative

Our Maintenance Team are responsible for all aspects of maintenance across Longleat, which includes the Safari Park, Attractions, Food and Beverage Outlets and Retails Shops. You will be ensuring all our onsite buildings and assets remain in excellent condition for our guests, carrying out all scheduled an unscheduled general maintenance works.

What will this role entail?

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will ensure that all work undertaken is within relevant legislation, guidelines and code of practice, and that all procedures are adhered to.  You will also be expected to work on occasions with the engineering team in respect of the rides & attractions.

Key duties will include:

• To carry out building, maintenance, carpentry and minor plumbing works, making good and other types of internal and external works as instructed by your manager.
• To maintain appropriate and accurate records of time, duration and scope of works undertaken, together with materials and plant utilised on each project.
• To ensure that all works are undertaken in a safe manner in accordance with good practice and current legislation.
• Request necessary materials and plant as required ensuring effective completion of the works, minimising waste and surplus materials wherever possible.
• Support new building work installations and projects as requested.

What will I need to be considered for this vacancy?

• Solid post-qualification experience.
• Valid, full UK driving licence.
• Background in general maintenance
• Excellent communication skills - Ability to engage with our guests and colleagues.
• Ability to work under pressure and complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Ability to work on your own or as part of a team.
• Good at developing sound working relationships
• Understanding of Health & Safety legislation
