We are seeking a part-time Seasonal Team Leader to support our Retail operations.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will take a hands-on role in leading a team of seasonal and permanent team members within our Retail operation during Cheddar's peak season.
You will be responsible for ensuring high standards of guest service are consistently delivered while maintaining full compliance with health and safety, cash handling procedures and departmental service standards. A key part of your role will be leading your team by example, ensuring the retail space remains clean, safe and well presented, with strong stock standards and visual merchandising in place at all times.
Key duties will include:
- Support the Assistant Operations Managers in the delivery and day-to-day operation of Cheddar Gorge & Caves retail outlets, including seasonal activity and experiences.
- Lead the team in delivering memorable guest experiences and outstanding customer service.
- Ensure the retail areas are opened, operated and closed in line with departmental standards.
- Ensure tills are opened, balanced and closed efficiently and in line with company cash handling procedures.
- Monitor stock levels and presentation, ensuring shelves, displays and merchandising standards are maintained.
- Communicate clearly with the team to ensure important operational information is shared in a timely manner.
- Delegate appropriate tasks across the team to ensure smooth operation throughout the day.
- Deal with and resolve customer queries and complaints in line with company policy and procedures.
- Support team members in delivering their roles effectively and confidently.
About you:
- 5 GCSEs at grade C or above to include Maths and English, or equivalent qualifications.
- Good knowledge of health and safety and cash handling procedures.
- Projects a positive image and acts as a role model for others.
- A responsible approach and excellent communication skills to support the development of colleagues and the business.
- Positive and curious, with the ability to generate ideas that improve the guest and colleague experience.
- Relates to people in an open, friendly and approachable manner.

Your contract:
This is a fixed term contract until 30 September 2026, working 14 hours over 2 days a week. Your rota will vary across a 7-day schedule and will include weekends, evenings and bank holidays as required.
The earliest start time will be 8:00am, and the latest finish time 8:00pm, depending on operational requirements and seasonal trading hours.
